The Overseas Social Security (OSS) is part of the National Social Security Office (NSSO). It aims to fulfill the international dreams of expats outside the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland and the UK. We will elaborate on the Belgian government's expat insurance offer during the presentation.
What to expect?
A comprehensive webinar on the offer of the Overseas Social Security.
This offer consists of a basic package:
- Pension insurance
- Incapacity for work and disability insurance (including pregnancy)
- Deferred healthcare insurance
In addition, an expat or employer can also take additional insurance:
- Medical care
- Workplace accidents and Accidents in private life
This webinar will also interactively sound out the needs of Belgian expatriates and provide time to answer questions from the audience.

Communication Manager at National Office for Social Security
https://www.overseassocialsecurity.be/en/Annelies joined the Overseas Social Security Office in October 2020. She is responsible for internal and external communication. She works closely with her colleagues Peggy and Alain, but also with the NSSO's general communication service.
She is always looking for what drives expats and is therefore keen to use this to improve communication in print, on the website and on social media. So would you like to share some of your travel experiences or do you know an expat who has or has had an inspiring experience abroad?

Expert Frontline at National Office for Social Security
https://overseassocialsecurity.be/en/Peggy started her career at the Overseas Social Security (OSZ)in 2001. After spending several years in the Collection Department, she moved on to Affiliation and Communication. The common thread? She was - and still is - the point of contact for the (potential) affiliated policyholders and pensioners of the
OSS.
After a 20-year career at the OSS, she is considered an expert on expat insurance. She now puts her knowledge to use in the Customer Service, (Frontline since 2020) and supports the communication team.
Alain
Claessens
Account Manager OSS at National Office for Social Security
https://www.overseassocialsecurity.be/en/Alain started at Overseas Social Security (OSS) in 2003. In the legal department, he was responsible for digitizing the OSS archive.
After several years of scanning and archiving, he moved to the "Active Insured" Service in 2014. In the Official Registration cell, he handled personnel movements of the 'collective contracts'.
In the run-up to the creation of the Customer Service Department, this "walking library" was involved in developing the new internal and external tools. At the same time, he continues to develop his knowledge of the OSS system. Now he is supporting our affiliated employers as an Account Manager.
